Our thanks and appreciation to Pastor Lutz Keller
for his leadership and message
Reverend Lutz Gottfried Keller was born in formerly occupied
East Germany but migrated to West Germany at the age of five and
subsequently to the United States at the age of nine. He grew up in
Asheboro and Hickory, graduating from Claremont Central High School
and Lenoir Rhyne College with a BS in Chemistry and Biology. His
early career path found him involved in textile research, the
operation of two dive shops and pharmaceutical quality
control. Following these diverse occupations he enrolled in Duke
Divinity School where he obtained his Master of Divinity Degree. He
is ordained in the United Methodist Church and has served in local area
churches for over twenty years. Music has been an integral part
of his private as well as religious life with participation in family
recorder quartets, area bands and orchestras as bassoonist and
through various ensembles ranging from Medieval to Christian Rock.
Reverend Keller retired from church related duties in
January of 2010 but continues to maintain a very active schedule. We
are pleased to have him currently serving Grace Reformed Church
as supply minister.
